Freshers can not be hired as a business analysts in IT industry as
a) A Business Analyst role requires maturity to interact with the client
b) A fresher does not posses any domain training
c) Freshers traditionally are never hired as Business Analysts
d) Freshers have weak IT skills

Reality
Like any other jobs business analysts are also hired at entry levels provided
a) They have  communication and leadership skills commensurate to their age and qualification
b) They have relevant academic back ground example an engineering or a management or a computer applications degree. Even those who posses  a degree in a specialized domain say banking or insurance are welcome. For example   for example qualifications from Insurance Institute of India like Licensiate or Associate or Fellow in General or Life Insurance
c) They prefer managerial  analysis based roles which require some deep thinking and problem solving  abilities as compared to pure sales profiles
d) And off-course you bring what freshers have in abundance energy, positive and a can do attitude
e) As In India there are many individuals who can pass this cut it will help if your acquire some Business Analyst skills like Unified Modelling Language, MS Visio, Requirements Analysis , Stakeholder analysis either through self study or through a formal Business Analyst training institute it will prove your intent and make you a ready hire

I come across several well qualified , smart  and ambitious youngsters who have started of with an IT Process Support specialist role (some times IT companies call them Process consultants)  with 1-3 years of experience  and on a lookout for a change in career to that of an IT Business Analyst. This change is so near wit h right steps, for some others it is can be  a far away reality if they do not acquire right skills. First question which can come to your mind why these qualified youngsters working with reputed MNC companies like IBM, Tech Mahindra, BT, Genpact, Infosys BPO, HCL Enterprise etc aspire for a career change so early. Lets investigate why they they aspire for a career change to that of an IT Business Analyst so early.

1) When they joined the Process consultant role right after BTech or MBA - Year 0 to Year 1
a) Offered a process consultant role by an MNC say IBM or Interglobe Technologies when you are in final semester. You are too happy to join and you are flooded with congratulatory messages. Rs 3 lac per  annum  which you are offered looks decent. You are on your feet and your parents are happy
b) You join the company the office environment , smart out going co-workers and successful seniors make you feel that you have arrived. The training in a new business process be it Insurance or Telecom or Retail or Healthcare convinces you that you were always cut out for Business and were never a techie
c) You learn, contribute, enjoy office parties and outings. You are happy when you receive client appreciation certificates. It dosent matter whether you are in day shift, Australian shift , UK shift or US shift

2) A process consultants life  Year 1 - Year 3
a) You master the process but the support is repetitive and there is nothing more to learn on a daily basis.
b) Those working in night shifts some times wonder will I be doing this for the entire next decade
c) You gain confidence in client discussions and communicating issues discussed with the client to the technical team. However it is not preparation of elaborate  Requirement documents like BRD or FRD but a mere raise of tickets with narrations in English
d) Your counterparts who have joined the IT Industry as Business Analysts are now being considered for  challenging onsite assignments. 
e) You are also aware that there is a gap in salary offered to a Business analyst and a KPO or a BPO process consultant. A gap which will only widen with time. 

What next, now you scan your opportunities,  a role that of a programmer or that of a software tester is ruled out for lack of skills and expertise. For  a software tester or a software programmer role you have to start all over again at a much smaller software company as a trainee. Now you think you can take up a IT Business Analyst  role as you have been into  client communication and also received some basic domain training. You have also been exposed to the working culture of IT / ITES enterprise. So how do you go about it and how to bridge the gap from being a ITES support  professional to that of a Business Analyst.

Step I : Do home work about how you can relate your current process support  activities to that of an IT Business Analyst
Step II : Take an IT Business Analyst training, face to face training will always be better than a live web based classroom or video tutorials . Always review the profile of the trainer because it is the trainer and the Institute which makes the difference
Step III : Ask your trainer to support you through interviews

Reason Number 1 - Business Analysis can be done from anywhere including home
Now it is very common that Business Analysts can take up remote Requirement elicitation sessions using Gotowebinar, Skype etc even from home. So you don't have be in the office to complete your project business analysis at un godly hours

Software releases are known for their crazy work hours , you may get affected but if you are a business analyst you may not be needed all the time in those last 3-4 weeks

Reason Number 5: You are naturally designed to be a superior Business Analyst with empathy towards the clients
As a women empathy is your basic instinct. BA skills are some times not enough for the project, its empathy and your willingness to go an extra mile helps.
