Visio Standard 2019 and Visio Professional 2019 have been launched by Microsoft in a quiet launch in October 2018 as per plan
With this launch, as on October / November 2018, Vision 19 Professional and Visio 19 Standard editions will have same features as Visio Online Plan I and Visio Online Plan II respectively.
Some New Features in Visio 19 Professional Edition
- New Diagram Templates in the Flowchart category viz : Basic Flow Chart Data Visualizer, Cross Functional Flow Chart Data Visualizer. These templates allow the Visio modeler create simple flow charts and cross functional flow charts through process or flow chart data present in the Excel sheet. See below
- New Wireframe-Mobile App and Wireframe-Website Templates Traditionally Visio lagged in functionality vis a vis popular wireframe and mockup production software like Balsamiq. With the introduction of below shown templates Wireframe - Mobile App and Wireframe-Website, Visio has done a good job. Going forward it has powerful templates and features for wireframe and mockup preparation. These templates are present in the software and database category.
- New Education Category Templates: Education category templates were introduced in February 2017 in the Visio Pro for Office 365 or the Plan II option. These templates were not available in Visio 16 or earlier versions like Visio 13 or Visio 10. Visio 19 is equipped with Education category templates.
- Slide Snippets: Functionality for snipping portion of your Visio drawing and exporting it directly to a power point file is provided in Visio 19. You will need PowerPoint 13 or above for this functionality.
